Rose is like our mom. She ensured we had everything we needed, helping us reheat our pie and even dressing it up with her homemade plum sauce, which turned a simple market meal into a feast. Her home is incredibly tidy and cozy—you can't even find a speck of dirt on the bathroom walls. Her cats are friendly and sweet, and I’m sure even people who don’t typically like cats would be charmed by them. Rose’s place truly made my trip more enjoyable and memorable.

The fact that they greeted us and talked us through our stay in person

You are sharing the owners (Rosie) home and as such you have access to all her amenities. The home was clean and comfortable and was sufficient for a short stay. Rosie herself was very personable and her home is situated on a quiet street a few K’s from the town centre.

With only 2 room available for guests the room allocated to me opened directly onto the lounge where the owner and guests could sit and watch TV (no TV’s in the room). Rosie herself sat directly outside the door (it was after all her own lounge) so those wishing for privacy may feel slightly uncomfortable at the proximity of their “Landlady”. At one point I went to use the bathroom but Rosie informed me that the other guest had just gone in for a shower so I had to wait until they had finished. A private bathroom would have been more convenient. The bathroom itself was secured by a flimsy hook and chain affair with no lock at all on the bedroom.

Love the great help from Rosie, we get to see the blue penguins. Nice comfortable bed and space with set up is cosy and homely. Probably one tv in the room for guest would be awesome. Apart from that everything was great. She get to tell us the what to do in Oamaru and along the way to Dunedin. She recommended us the best bakery in town, that was even the best. Thank you Rosie, see you again🙏🏽

Rosie is very nice and helpful. Her house is very comfortable, clean, and everything is high standard. She tried best to make you feel home, i.e. the candies and mints, cold water to leave for you. The towels were even warm. Her home like 5 start hotel.
