Great location in Ribeira Brava on the topp of the hill. Wonderful ocean views. Amazing place to explore the island. The location is very good to visit the West and South of the island, any place would less than 40 mn drive. It suited us because we were very active, hiking and exploring Madeira. The house was incredible, apartement is large and the very wide bed is very comfortable, the pillows too! The kitchen is superbly equipped. In one word - absolutely everything we needed was there. A terrace where you can sit and watch the sunset. You can park your car at the house in front of the door. The entrance to the property is very steep, but very well planned and no problem driving up. That you can drive to the door, is a luxury here in the mountains. We thank the kind hostess Raquel for her warm welcome. It was such a nice and warm and simple. We definitely recommend. It's good to know that the evenings are very windy and cool here in Aprill, the villa is located on a high mountain. But this is Madeira, this wonderful Madeira.

There were quite a few "worms" outside, and somehow some made their way into the apartment. The owners were clearly making an effort, as they were fumigating around the house during our stay. The bed is squeaky

Raquel, the owner, was really helpful in the weeks prior to us arriving with my myriad of questions. She only speaks a little English (which is more than I can speak of Portuguese) but between us we managed just fine in person as well. Room is spotless. It is a large'ish 1BRM flat with a King bed (huge) with side tables and lamps and double powerpoints both sides. Brilliant! A couch, a small table with a 2 sided bench and 2 chairs for meals and relaxing. A small table and chairs outside as well. Kitchen functional with full size fridge, microwave, cooktop (no oven). Washing machine and liquid. Had BBQ outside with fire bricks (we didn't use). Had a good view over sea. Bathroom is good size and the shower is AWESOME. Hot water pretty much instant and fantastic pressure. Air con/heater worked well and was quiet. Room to put bags and a hanging unit for clothes. Parking is offsite and on the property itself just the few steps down from your doorway to your car; perfect! GPS found the co-ordinates Raquel supplied. Roads are small and tight (but that is everywhere on the island, not just at this accoms). Are 2 ways to reach the steep driveway, one is much easier than the other (the road in from the west was by far easiest for driveway access). If we are ever back in Madeira (and we hope we do get back one day as the island is FANTASTIC), and again had a car, we would happily stay at Raquel's again. Location of Ribeira Brava is awesome for day trips in all directions.

This isn't a 'didn't like' but more a 'be aware of'; you do need a car to truly enjoy this accommodations. We did and all was fine.

Wonderful location on the top of the hill in a very quiet place. The appartent is large and the bed is very comfortable. The kitchen is superbly equipped with kitchen tools. Bathroom is also great. The owner was very kind as well. Easy parking. No worries about the access by car despite of what we read in some comments. Yes, the road is steep but not more than many other streets in Madeira, and in no way dangerous but you have to arrive by the the upper side of the road (pass the Amalo shop first and then turn right two times) to make it safer. About breakfast, we recommend to visit Ponto de Encontro in Campanario on the way to the express road. The location is very good to visit the West and South of the island (any place would less less than 40 mn drive). The East is a bit further, but still doable in the day.

In case of bad weather, this place can be rather windy.

Everything was perfect, the owner is super nice and welcoming.

Everything about our stay was fantastic. Room was very clean, comfortable and had everything that is needed for living, all the consumables. During stay we cooked food and room also had everything to make that possible. The view from the room and yard was also fantastic. Also there are friendly playful cats on the territory, a little entertainment for the at home hours!

The only thing that could be added to room inventory is indoor drying rack for clothes, as it is problematic to dry clothes outside during the rain
