The Host was incredibly rude, was obviously in a rush and annoyed that we booked so close to 8pm. She didn't even pretend not to be. On arrival she didn't introduced herself, no greeting, nothing. Showed us the room and very quickly told me what keys to use where and to leave them in the room on departure the next day. I asked her, her name otherwise I would have no idea who she was until now(she said Paula but here it says the Host is Ana) then I asked about restaurants. Again, not much was said (all conversations were had in fluent Portuguese so language wasn't the reason for the shortness). She then said "Agora vou sair" and disappeared. We came back at 10pm after a very tiring day only to discover that the bed was incredibly hard, the pillows awfully empty, the bathroom floor covered in long black hairs and the sheets were clearly not freshly clean and/or ironed. It was quite hot and the room was very stuffy but we could not open the window/door because when we did, the room was full of mosquitoes in less than 5 minutes. There were no mosquito nets, no fan and/or mosquito repellent "things" that you plug in to keep them away so we had no choice but to close everything. In the morning it took us ages and lots of wasted water to figure out how to use the shower as it wasn't straight forward nor did it have any explanation/indication/instructions. This seems like such a silly thing but it was truly ridiculous how not straightforward the system was. All in all it truly was a really bad experience. Also, the amount of fragant smells you are hit with when you walk into the house (going past the host's living area) gave me an almost instant headache. If you dont want to host then... don't! You are clearly not cut out to do so
