Nova Alegria

The location is quite good. Its within walking distance of a metro station and train station that took us to Sintra. There are a few restaurants and cafes nearby as well, while it is also easy to walk to different areas to find more bars and restaurants.

Before booking, I called to ask if there was a bathroom inside the room, and I was told there was. When we arrived, we were given a room without a bathroom. (There is one bedroom that has a bathroom inside, while the other three do not). On top of this, the bedroom is quite small with a sink, and when we used the sink there was a bad smell from the drains. The bed is fairly comfortable. The bathrooms were okay, apart from the mould on the shower curtains which I advise them to clean more regularly.

When we first arrived the bed and room were not clean, however when we rang the owners they came within minutes to clean the room and leave fresh towels which was very good. The rooms are basic but have what you need. The shared bathroom really wasn’t a problem, we didn’t see anyone else staying there. The location was good too, it’s on a hill so people who find walking difficult would struggle, but it was close to the centre and had breakfast and restaurants places round.

location is just a few blocks up from metro avenida. very convenient. the room facing the garden is quiet room which I like alot.

the shared kitchen does not have cutlery. no cooking pan,only have microwave. during 4 days of stay, it will be good to clear the trash in between.

Nice rooms in a nice neighbourhood, but next to quite busy street that is loud both during day and night.

Be aware that it can get loud and your night sleep can be disturbed (but I have to admit this is an issue in most of the Lisbon guest houses)

We loved the location. It's central but not too busy and close to the tourist areas, while still being walking distance to main attractions. The kitchenette is equipped with everything we needed for a longer stay. Even though there were other guests staying, we rarely ran into anyone else. The other guests were quiet and respectful of other travellers. Wifi worked well and the TV was an added bonus. Great value for the stay. The pictures shown are an accurate representation of what it looks like.

The room was a little tight for two people to share, but still manageable (for the price I'd still do it again). Showers were similarly on the smaller side to manoeuvre.

Great location.

The towels reeked of fabric softener, so much it burned my throat and we kept the towels in the little dressing room area off our room. The showers also had fabric shower curtains so either they would blow and stick to you during the shower or you'd tuck them to keep them off you and leave a gigantic puddle with no way to clean it up. The bathrooms weren't cleaned the week we were there and the last person to use the kitchen didn't clean up the sandwich press.

Nice location, easy access to the city center. Clean room, easy check in and check out.

Shower cabin is too small for a tall person.
