My fiancé and I booked three nights at Kruger Ranch, looking forward to a peaceful bush escape outside Magaliesburg. The property is advertised as offering privacy, wildlife, an entertainment and recreational facilities, pools, and well-maintained accommodation. Unfortunately, the reality was completely misaligned with what was advertised, resulting in a highly disappointing and concerning experience. We were not informed that the access road to the ranch is a long gravel road with thick muddy sections, unsuitable for sedan vehicles. The drive was tedious and risky, especially in rainy conditions, with a real possibility of getting stuck. This information should be clearly disclosed to guests in advance so they can prepare appropriately. During our stay, another couple became stuck on the road while attempting to reach the property and subsequently contacted Booking.com after experiencing the same concerns. According to the Booking.com listing, the property offers: Recreational facilities or entertainment area Ultimate privacy Your own private Pool at each accommodation Your own private deck with a view Wildlife viewing (antelope) Camping facilities Poolside cocktails However: The restaurant has been closed since 2020, which we were only informed of after arrival. Recreational facilities were non-functional or abandoned. Entertainment area is locked as it has 3 bedrooms linked to it that also gets rented out The “camping area” has clearly not been in use for years—no caravans were present. The mini-golf course was barely recognisable. The pool featured in promotional photos was not clean or in good standing These are not minor discrepancies; they represent systemic misrepresentation.

The host was extremely rude and racist. He didn’t accommodate us as the big group we were but seemed to instead see us as an inconvenience. He banned us from the shared kitchen space because we were apparently too many people. We then had to cook outside even though it was raining the entire time and the gas bottle for the stove was empty so that we had to wait for a new one before being able to make food for the children. Unbelievable how we, as paying guests, were treated even though we did nothing to upset any other guests or him (except for being there and wanting to be treated just as the group of white people that happily used the advertised communal space)!

The place we stayed in was nice

Wow, in that rainy weather, a nightmare especially the 10/15 km away from the venue

Well lets start by there was nobody to open the gate, and we phoned 6 to 8 times so we left. We did not sleep there we had to book another place to sleep

The is no security at the gate you have to call so the can open for you and the is no network Second no reception Three poor management cause when you complain he answer so bad he doesn't care cause you already paid The place is not clean at all We decided to go and look for other places He is scam

The treatment as special from the management cause we are the black people He don't have a skin I think he need a training
