Homestay & Restaurant Segara Amed

The deluxe rooms are all renovated and big. Everything was very clean. The owner and the staff are so nice. The warung is very good and you can eat fresh grilled fish catched by the owner itself everyday. We were supposed to stay 3 nights at the end we stayed 5.

Teh staff are excellent at thier jobs. The location is amazing. right on the beach woth amazing fresh seafood avaiable to eat. Huge brekfast included. Great air con and room is big and great views to Mount Agung and the sea

Excellent location, beautiful family running this property on the beachfront. Breakfast included. Great atmosphere and comfortable private accommodation with private bathroom - it’s not fancy but it’s clean and safe and enjoyable to stay at

Car parking was a little far but nothing that can’t be managed with help from the property.

Pretty much directly on the beach. Food was very good, especially the fish.

- Everything was in kinda bad shape - Bathroom was a bit smelly - Shower was more like a Single pipe without hot water (which isn't that bad) - Beds where not very comfortable and not clean either - The A/C was malfunctioning with a constant blinking light (not able to disable). I Stuck a bit of paper over it so it didn't feel like a police car is with me in the room. Very sorry to create such a review because the owners were very friendly and it is cheap as well.

What I liked is everything except what I disliked. Rooms are clean, large and Very near the beach. Good food, affordable prices. Helpful and nice people/staff there. And even the bunch of roosters they have are far enough away from the rooms to not annoy us.

IMO, for 460.000 rupiahs, they should provide the AC, at least program it to work for the night time, 'cause two people in the bedroom makes it quickly hot!!!, and the mosquito net makes the roof fan a bit useless.... Also we had a little trouble with the tap water in our bathroom, pressure issue. But we made the staff aware of that in the morning and in the night problem was solved.

The room itself is a really good size, and was clean. It has good furniture - a large dressing table, wardrobe and two bedside tables and a bedside lamp. There is also a very good ceiling fan. The location is very good, close to the local supermarket, ATMs, it is beachfront at a nice relaxed part of the beach. Aside from the owner, the family and staff here are lovely here, and I was greeted by a very kind lady when I checked.

The room is quite dark, even with the lights on. When I booked the room, it stated “Mountain views” and “Balcony”, so I was surprised when I was given a room on the ground floor. I was told that the patio was the balcony. There was definitely no Mountain View from the room, just the view of a wall. When I asked if there was a room available on the upper level, I was told that this was a different price. In the bathroom, you have to hold the shower head whilst showering and the toilet moves when you sit down. It is tricky to get the shower to a comfortable temperature. Once it gets hot, it’s way too hot, and difficult to get back to a reasonable temperature (probably better to just use it lukewarm). The window in the bathroom would not close, and bangs against the window-frame loudly when it’s windy. I tried to talk to the owner politely about a couple of these issues and found his behaviour very strange, as he kept pulling strange faces at me whilst I was talking. I found it unnecessary and defensive and it did make me feel uncomfortable to talk to him about anything else. I didn’t have this kind of experience anywhere else in Bali.
