Ciel Homestay

Understated elegance. The rooms are in a new building in an older compound next to the original house and well maintained gardens. There were two very comfortable beds, a table with chairs and large windows looking onto the garden. Downstairs was a well appointed kitchen available for the use of all the guests. It was also a nice area to visit with other guests if desired. The location is just blocks from the Citadel and numerous restaurants. The hostess was very kind. There is no breakfast but one could cook or bring in food from nearby. It is in a neighborhood with some traffic but noise was not a problem at all. A nearby restaurant is Malisa which is tiny but one of the best meals we had in Vietnam.

We cannot think of anyting we did not like.

It is a stunningly beautiful walled garden property, lovingly maintained by the granddaughter of its original owner. Our host (the granddaughter) was so kind and friendly, and rightly very proud of the property. We also enjoyed having access to a shared kitchen and sitting area, and laundry facilities.

The bed was a bit hard! And while the property itself is gorgeous, it is a bit far from the tourist-oriented parts of town. Quite “local living”…

Very cozy and traditional, feels like someone really cared to make it homey and welcoming, like a home away from home. We personally liked that it was in the old part of Hue and that just stepping outside was like immersing yourself in the history. Our experience was outstanding and we would definitely recommend it. ❤️

Hot water pressure could have been better in the shower. But we really did like our stay.

Excellent location - short walk to the Imperial Palace and surrounded by good local food places. Extremely accommodating & friendly host. Personally I would prefer having shower enclosure, but totally understand the popularity of open shower in Vietnam.

The homestay is owned by a lovely elderly couple who are very concerned with the wellbeing of their guests. The location is also perfect in the center of Hue.

Be aware that there are two large but very friendly dogs living at the property, so avoid if you are afraid of dogs.

It was in a quieter area away from the popular tourist spots. The accommodation is set on a large property surrounded by fruit trees & beautiful gardens. The host couple were exceptional.

Nothing to dislike.
