Whispering Oak Mansion

A very nice place to stay with a friendly, helpful host. It's set in an attractive area and the building itself is pretty. Beds were comfortable and room was as warm or cool as we needed. Easy parking. Facilities were excellent, breakfast was good, some very nice touches such as sodas and snacks to buy as you need - at a price that means it's being done for the guest's comfort, not to make more money.

No way to avoid mentioning it sadly, in room 5 the Aircon is very noisy all night. It's not just a hum, it's really noisy.

Everything was great and as expected. The breakfast was quite adequate. Room was comfortable and quiet.

Room was on the lower level, ie, walkout basement. Don’t get me wrong, everything was finished off to yet max!

Despite the mansion setting, a lot of things felt "off." When it rained, the parking area flooded. The basement lounge, decor and furnishings were cheap, and the wall colors and decal quotes were distracting/inharmonious. An interior designer would have some good ideas to improve the feng shui/aesthetics of the place. The pillows in the executive suite, while clean, were also not good quality, and did not promote restful sleep. There was no coffee or tea service in the room, requiring guests to stumble into the lounge for access to a Keurig and electric tea kettle at the risk of bumping into other guests before being presentable or fully awake. There were no protein options at breakfast; cheese, nuts, or yogurt would have been welcome additions.

I did not eat breakfast. The mansion was tranquil and cozy. A home feeling away from home! The owner was engaging and professional.

Nothing! Everything exceeded expectations!
