Lucky Star Ella

Great view because the hotel is very high above the town (need took took) though an easy walk down steep road/stairs to ella city centre (restaurants/bars/shops). Hotel owner family, extremely helpful where they can. Breakfast is OK and convenient.

Had trouble with the location but got used to it. Mossies luv me, so recommend hotel repair the holes in nets. Sri Lanka bathrooms always seem to have water leaks. Great cliff top bar next to hotel driveway. Bed challenging for 6'3< persons

The room was not as shown in the pictures. Specific smell in the room, probably fungus! The big surprise was the rat in the room. Owner was rude. I do not recommend this place to anyone

The balcony and the views

The room was damp, mouldy and dirty so we were unable to feel comfortable within the room. The properly does not actually reflect the pictures and was much more tired than shown. The property is around 30 mins from the town and you couldn’t do that in the dark. Although the host did offer another room, we didn’t feel that would have improved things so we ended up leaving earlier than planned.

The view is simply breathtaking and made our stay on Ella really worth it. The owner and his family helped us a lot, from speeding up the laundey to arranging a driver for us all the way to galle (at a cheaper price than what normally available). The view from the hotel is simply breathtaking. (People normally do hikes to get this view bit if y stay here that's it, you have it just by waking up)

Nothing. Only thing to keep in mind is that the place is a short tuk tuk drive from Ella centre (5-7min) and the street is uphill. But that's just normal if you want to have such a view. Plus Ella centre is a very very small town, just a busy street with no real view.

Good location but you will want a ride from town to the property. Value is appropriate. Owner is very friendly - family run

a view, but not the “wow” view other properties might have. plenty of areas around to make up for this via hike.

The room was big nice views, breakfast was excelent. Even the location its a bit far from the center its not a problem because touk touk its cheap. And for sure much better here beause of the mountain views
