Freedom Lodge, Kandy

Big room in a family-run house though can see that the facilities are getting old. There is a shared kitchen with a communal fridge, and you can boil your water at the stove.

Location is near to the lake and I had a great view of the lake and surrounding hills. Mosquito net provided over the bed is a great add-on. Really appreciated that but I did not encounter any mosquitoes in the room.

The floor did not appear to be very clean. No water and no kettle provided so please stock up in town.

Cozy accommodation in a beautifully decorated townhouse on a hill overlooking a temple. The owner was a great host.

Sarath & Nalini very welcoming with tea when we arrived much appreciated after a long day travelling. Accommodation near centre of Kandy walking distance by lake, excellent breakfast nothing was too much trouble I will be recommending this stay to friends nice to stay with locals

The classic style of the home, rooms, and grounds. The breakfast area has stunning views and the owner is a joy to speak with. They are accommodating in every way and willing to help to make your experience memorable.

Not being able to get in the gate one night. They thought I was already inside since my lights were on, so it is understandable.

A very friendly family run accommodation. They provide a extremely good breakfast. The owner cooked us a wonderful evening meal. We sat and chatted on one evening and in fact loss track of time. A lovely place to stay.

It would be nice to have water, tea and coffee provided in the room. Otherwise no complaints.

This is a good place to stay in Kandy. It is near the temple, a 10 minute walk. It's not on a big hill, you're up in 2 minutes. The house needs no air conditioning, there is always a airflow through the house. The room I booked had a lot of space and it's clean. For a Sri Lankan town it's not too noisy. The Breakfast is simple, but for the price it's ok. The staff is very friendly and the owner is helping where you have a problem. So I can recommend it.
