Dances Bay

I liked the location, as it was right on the water. There are places to sit and soak up the surroundings, I wish I had more time to take in the lovely area. I loved the amenity pack, as I left my toothbrush and it came at just the right time. I loved the keurig coffee, the fridge in the room, the giant TV and the very comfy bed, all very welcoming. It could use a little dusting, but otherwise, I enjoyed my stay and if in the area would consider staying again.

The host was very nice and the location was beautiful. The room was private and comfortable. I enjoyed getting up early and watching the landscape in the morning light.

It was a bit far to drive from town - about 15 minutes on small roads - which was challenging after dark, but once I'd done it once it was fine.

As this place is a large house split into several lovey rooms for rent, I found my room #1 with a rustic huge bed and great view of the Bay. It is so non-motel like. The grounds are lovely as is the view and proximity to the bay.

The listing made it clear there was no food available at the place, and as this is a house in what is essentially a resort area, there are no nearby places to go out to eat. There was coffee and tea. I accepted this info when I reserved and I hoped there might be a store/mini market in the area to compensate. If there was, it was more than a few miles to such services. I would have liked it if there was such, but I liked the fact that I knew that going to the place. I'd add that I didn't see any nearby gas stations either. I had a difficult time identifying the place. It is set back a few hundred yards from the road, and I passed by it several times looking for it. There was no signage other than a mail box. I found it and even driving up to the house, I wasn't sure that was the place - but it was.

The property was peaceful and the view from the deck was excellent. Being on the water, a friendly but not intrusive host and a great big lovable dog made our stay just the respite we needed.
