Baanhatsompaen homestay

This location was amazingly beautiful! Nestled into the side of the mountain with views looking over the water of the reservoir below. Breathtaking sunsets and a wonderful sunrise. Our hosts were wonderful and really engaging. It is a really unique set up at Homestay in Baan Hat Som Paen. The property is "vertical" as it is built into the hill. Stairs going up to main area and then some additional stairs to the individual rooms/pods/cabins. Luggage is lifted up from the street by a vertical elevator. Really unique and quite beautiful.

We were following the directions on our GPS and got "stuck" - ended up in a government office and the wonderful folks there helped us. They called the resort and then someone came by motorbike and led us to the property. All in all we really didn't mind this and considered it part of our adventure - everyone was super friendly and we weren't in any sort of a hurry. However, we thought we should mention this part for others! The food selections were very basic and the portions were small (in our opinion). Again we didn't mind this much however if you are expecting food options/room service like in a hotel please adjust your expectations so you're not disappointed.

The location is very beautiful, the bungalows have a great view over the lake. The staff was not very proficient in English but they did their best to communicate and were super friendly. We first got a room where the AC was broken and they immediately offered us a new room.

The shower was basically on top of the toilet in the second bungalow we got, the first one was fine, so it seems to depend on the room you get. The beds were very hard, which we personally didn’t really like.

This is an exceptional place to stay, the views are amazing and the accommodation was very comfortable and well designed. Nice gardens, and very friendly and helpful staff. We booked only two hours ahead of us arriving and we didn’t arrive until 17:30 but they cooked a meal for us and we had a lovely breakfast the next day. A stay we will remember

What an experience and unique place! Fantastic setting and view. Very calm, perfect to enjoy nature. The staff is ultra friendly and everything is done with passion.

Quite unique location described accurately in previous comments. Very friendly owners. They manage to produce a really nice dinner. Hyghly recommended.

Well, I don't even know what to say.... Here I will tell the whole truth then the next time everything will be busy. I liked it.... THAT'S IT!

You definitely shouldn't go to this place, it's so good there that I want it to stay there…
