DEVASHOLA HOMESTAY

The staff are very pleasant and helpful. The property is located in a tea estate and nestled in serenity. We went to many walks and treks inside the property. Spent perfect family time without internet and TV.

The room didn't have a view. The food options are only South Indian veg. Wi-Fi connection was non-existent. There is no TV in the room, scanty mobile reception.

Simple wholesome vegetarian unlimited breakfast

The distance from Coonoor main city to the resort is wrongly mentioned on booking.com site. It should be rectified so that a visitor is fully aware when doing the booking

Everything from food to room, from location to cleanliness, everything was spot on. We loved the bonfire at night and trek in the morning. Caretaker Ravikumar is an excellent cook. Everyone was really helpful and nice.

The cottage rooms are in the middle of Devashola Tea Plantation, completely remote and a beautiful drive from Coonoor. We were lucky enough to be the only guests at the time, Ashwin, Santhosh and the team looked after us so well, they sorted out everything for us, tasty home cooked food, a sunrise hike, a jeep tour through the plantation, a hammock and even a bonfire in the fire pit on our last evening!

Note that the home stay is about 45 mins drive from Coonoor (the google maps location is accurate). This was exactly what we were looking for to get away from the busy town centre and fully experience the beautiful Nilgiri Hills. When leaving we got a local taxi to Kolacamby and a bus from there which was an affordable way of getting to/from the plantation if you don’t want to get a taxi the whole way. Santhosh organised all this for us and was a massive help
