"Ideal accommodation that deserves to have more guests"

9.0

The room and bathroom were huge and very clean. There was a shower screen and shower curtain so no overflow of water into the rest of the bathroom. There was an attractive reception area, including chairs and a lovely swing settee, and an outdoor courtyard seating area with a couple of day beds undercover. Mohan collected us from the railway station - coming on to the platform to find us. His mother (Lalita?) assisted us in gaining access to Christ Church, where a relative of mine was baptised in 1881. Copious amounts of delicious food provided for dinner - more than we could eat! Quiet oasis of calm from Gwalior's hubbub outside the front gate.

There was nothing we didn't like.

"Cozy and welcoming location!"

8.0

The staff was very friendly and greeted us by name upon arrival- we were immediately made to feel welcomed with a tea. We were offered dinner which was very tasty, and the staff also provided additional tea and snacks later as well.

We were offered a dinner, and asked if we wanted veg or non-veg, but were not told that the non-veg option was significantly more expensive. This was our oversight as we should have asked but it felt a bit of a surprise.

"Thanks a lot for the outstanding service. Will definitely consider to come again next time"

10.0

The facility is an authentic heritage place downtown in Gwalior. You can feel the history of this nice place. The staff is extremely friendly and you feel well taken care. The typical Indian life is right in front of the door.

To get a dinner is a bit tricky depending what you’re looking for. But there is plenty of street food and take away places with all kind of Indian specialties in walking distance.

"Royal"

10.0

Delightful stay. Excellent upkeep. Supportive Staff. Clean environment. Superb Hospitality. Ethnic environment. Home cooked food. Serene setting. Calm atmosphere. If you missed staying here in Gwalior, you will miss the true royal environment.

Everything was excellent. I am not agreeing with other reviewers comment about hot water etc. For every geyser, you have to switch it on before actual usage. Also, space was available to keep Toiletries just next to tap. Building is of such type that you do not need AC and heater in it. Special Attention to the booking.com team: I am unable to remove last picture of of Bangla Sahib Gurudwara, Delhi which accidentally got uploaded. Please remove it as well as the Special attention.

"Heritage luxury with a warm heart"

10.0

My husband and I loved our stay at this beautiful heritage property. Centrally located and easy to find, it made for the best base from which to explore Gwalior city and the surrounding historic towns. The lobby area is like a beautifully decorated sitting room, with a lovely swing, old family photos, and some priceless heirloom artefacts and furniture. Our spacious room was gorgeous, with antique furniture (a dressing table, a rolltop table, and many others) set in alcoves, a wide and very comfy bed with premium quality bed linen, chairs, and carpets generously placed everywhere. A very well done toilet and bathroom, plenty of plug points, a split AC for summer, a brand-new heater when we felt cold, made sure it had all the modern amenities even while being heritage. The staff is simply amazing. Manager Mohan was always available, reaching out to us even before we arrived, arranging all our sightseeing, giving great recommendations. Parmanand looked after our every request, while Indutai made the most scrumptious breakfast daily, from kachoris, jalebis, to exquisite parathas, to pancakes and omelettes. The lovely Lalita Phalke, who owns the boutique hotel, met us a few times and we felt like we were at the home of a friend. When I fell sick, she made me feel better by feeding me delicious piping hot khichdi.

The only thing I would improve about Krishnayan Heritage would be its hot water geyser. Since it's a storage heater, you need to wait 20 minutes to get a bucket of hot water. Not the most time-efficient way to spend a morning when you're raring to go see the sights! And a shelf in the shower cubicle would be a convenient value-add, especially for people like me, who travel with their own toiletries. Keeping everything on the floor was quite taxing.

"Excellent place to spend a few days in Gwalior- would love to visit again"

9.0

Warm hospitality, friendly staff, beautifully maintained property, commodious rooms, nice breakfast spread, convenient location in the city (the property is in fact a calm oasis in a very busy bazaar!)

The mix of hot & cold water in the shower was a bit unpredictable & temperamental :-)

"Not worth it! Stay away"

5.0

I booked one of this property's highest category rooms, and it was not worth it. This is a very basic 2 star property. If you just need a bed to sleep in and not much more, then this property may work for you.

Property is difficult to both find and get in/out of -evening arrivals encounter two locked gates. Even fnding this place with GPS is difficult. The room has nothing particularly historic about it - very basic bed, and in winter months with one thin cotton blanket. The property doesn't even own any proper heavier winter blankets. No cable/TV in any of the rooms, including premium rooms. They offer an 8:30am breakfast which their staff approaches as a suggested possibility - the morning after my stay guests were milling about in the lobby waiting for the breakfast to get set up, which occurred half an hour late. Premium room bathroom had been renovated with western fixtures and toilet, but be prepared for an Indian style bucket bath, with no cup provided to use with the bucket. In addition, the hot water tank/geyser ran out of hot water with the bucket not even a quarter full. Kya bhai, complete waste of a night. I would never stay here again - they are charging too much for the very basic 2 star experience that this property is able to deliver.
