The owner is the most amazing person ever, she'll do anything and everything for you if you ask nicely, also she's updating and working on the tents all the time and fixing any issues that appear, everything on her own, anyone that has commented about the bathroom being dirty just didn't ask her to fix it and just paniked, in my experience it's fixed and clean again in under 3 hours of someone notifying her, which is amazing considering she does everything alone; now let's talk about the place, there's free breakfast every day and a barbeque in the weekend, you can order food or even cook it yourself, it's like 10 minutes walking to the nearest beach, the beds are comfy now, everything is very clean, and there's always something happening it's like a movie, it's definetly the best resort in whole thailand

Do nottt book it, not what i was expecting compared to photos.. awe full we was in single tents on the flaw no mattress, no fan.. very very disappointed We booked 2 nights on stayed one with holes in the tent

The shower and bathroom could be better🙈

- Mateoasis has an incredibly friendly owner, who takes care of her guests as a mother. She is always all smiles. - I stayed 8 nights (29 Dec. - 5 Jan.) in a tent. Luckily, it wasn't warm at night. Some nights were even a bit chilly, which was great. If needed, a fan can be provided. - Mateoasis is a wonderful little gypsy camp. It's an ideal spot to meet fellow travellers. - The ferries to Koh Kut land on Tapao Pier, which is only a 10 minute walk from Mateoasis. - Also beautiful Tapao Beach is closeby. - You can rent motorbikes here. - The owner can book onward tickets. - There's a free, tasty breakfast, too! I had a fantastic week here. Thank you very much, Saao, for the great stay! 🙏

The host is so lovely and we are used to staying in tents so were looking forward to being close to nature. Great food as mentioned on other reviews! Short walk to a brilliant beach, stunning for the sunset. However, as pictured, the photographs of the location are from the past, not up to date -

We were expecting grass and a little space between the tents, visible on the photos, but it is now a site crammed full of tents with gravel and concrete bases for the surface. Be prepared for a thin layer of foam to sleep on too rather than a futon. There is one toilet (and shower being in the same room) and with so many tents in the small space we counted that there could be around 25 people using the one toilet/shower room. Also the bathroom sink blocked after a couple of uses and leaked so we were stepping over a large puddle which wasn’t very appealing either! It could be a really lovely affordable space for backpackers, as I’m sure it was in the past, but we felt a really honest review could be useful to others to know what to expect. Hope for a few adjustments to be made and then it’d be a really lovely place to stay.

5* for effort!!! The Lady who runs MateOasis goes absolutely above and beyond for everyone and works so incredibly hard! Her ice cream and smoothies are fantastic!
