Sun Vivanta Resort

We enjoyed our stay in Sun Vivanta. The host was very kind and helped us with what to do in Mirissa and the best timings.

I would have prefered boiled tea instead of tea bags, but the breakfast was good.

Very Good Host. He will bend over backwards to go out of his way to help.

My one-night stay quickly turned into ten days in Mirissa thanks to Sunil and his family and their spectacular homestay. They made me feel at home in every possible way. I especially enjoyed the breakfast with varied fresh veggies, fruits and curries. Every morning Sunil made sure to prepare a different and special breakfast. My room and other facilities were very clean, tidy and comfortable. I particularly appreciated there was no humidity in the room and that the bathroom was cleaned daily. The room had a garden view so I enjoyed the freshness of the greenery and sounds of birds every day. If you are looking for a quiet break with a nice local family who will give you both privacy and company, whichever you prefer, this homestay is an ideal choice. I slept very well, tried homemade SriLankan dishes, enjoyed fresh fruits from the garden, and had many interesting conversations with the family. My room had a detached bathroom that is easily and quickly accessed through the family's living room. Honestly, I didn't find this inconvenient nor uncomfortable at all because from the day one I felt welcome and at home, like a part of the family. The door of the living room is closed during the night, naturally, but it's not locked so you can access the bathroom at any time with no problem. Finally, the location was a perfect match for me as well: a quiet home surrounded with a big garden but still very close to restaurants with great local or Western food, shops and spectacular clean beaches where you can go surfing, whale watching, snorkeling with turtles or just sunbathing and swimming. There is also a bus stop two-minute walk away where you can easily catch buses to Weligama, Galle etc. that run throughout the day. All in all, probably one of the best places to stay in Mirissa, and for an affordable price. I will most certainly come again and hopefully next time stay even longer 😌

Very nice place and very nice owners. I felt like in a grandma village. Great location - few minutes to a beach. Extreamly friendly dog and a bird nest right inside hall - just amazing. Good outside area

Very friendly family and amazing location! The room and bathroom were clean. The breakfast was also delicious! The owner even drove us to a far bus station when we left! Would only recommend!
