GBBeautiful balcony view outside the room I thoroughly enjoyed waking up at sunrise and soaking up the tranquility of the lake. Dinners and breakfast at the homestay were such good value for money and delicious.
The area is a good 40 minute tuk tuk from the typical backwater tours in Alleppey and we tried to go out for walks in the evenings but couldn't really find a clear walking path around the lake and ended up on backroads.

NLThe house is in the edge of the beautiful lake with peaceful atmosphere and amazing views that stretch as far as you can see. Glorious sunrise! Kind and helpful staff. Simple, comfortable room with everything needed. There is convenient transport to Alleppey as well as the inland, (we went to Munnar). Thank you fir the hospitality!

Nothing much but some might feel that it is slightly far away from the Alleppey town. But it is manageable if you rent a two wheeler

AUOrchid Lake View is a safe, comfortable and peaceful homestay. The views out to the lake from the shady and well tended garden are exceptional; particularly wonderful around sunset and sunrise. The lovely staff and owners are attentive and kind and are available to help with arrangements and advice. Lastly, the food at Orchid Lake View is exceptionally delicious, home-cooked Keralan feasts ! A real treat. We highly recommend this wonderful homestay and will recommend it to others. Many thanks to the staff and owner.
GBAmazing view looking out over the lake (great at sunrise) and incredibly helpful staff - they arranged drivers, backwater tours (etc), and had suggestions for the local area. Also a fantastic lunch. Hammock to chill in. lovely authentic home cooked breakfast, lunch and dinner. Location is fantastic for quiet and peaceful stay - be aware that you will need a tuk-tuk / taxi to get to the Alleppey backwater tours (which the homestay organised very efficiently for Rs 800) - I was able to split this with other guests also doing the same tour as me. Back water tour is Rs 1000 per person and I would highly highly recommend doing this. .
As mentioned, the distance to Alleppey town is around 40 mins in tuk-tuk.

The room. Room had quite some mold. Mold in the walls and ceilings. Was a bit dissapointing to be honest.
