This was my second stay here. The first time, a few months ago, the accommodation appeared clean, but there was a noticeable smell from the bedding and towels, like they hadn’t been dried properly before being put away or the washing machine itself needed cleaning. It wasn’t pleasant, but as I was only staying one night and I’m generally quite relaxed, I decided not to complain. Unfortunately, my stay tonight was even worse. As soon as I walked in, I noticed the floor hadn’t been swept or vacuumed properly, and the bathroom also didn’t appear to have been cleaned recently. I was still prepared to overlook those issues. However, when I entered the bedroom, the same smell hit me immediately, only this time it was much stronger. The bedding had that unmistakable pungent odour of laundry that hasn’t been dried properly before being stored, or has been washed in a machine that itself smells. It was overpowering. I tried to ignore it, but after a couple of hours I simply couldn’t stay any longer. I ended up paying for another hotel nearby and, before leaving just before 9pm, knocked on the owner’s door to explain the issue. The gentleman came to the room to investigate and, despite the obvious smell, insisted there was nothing wrong. I apologised for raising the issue and calmly explained that this was the second time I had experienced exactly the same problem. Rather than showing any understanding or concern, his tone became increasingly defensive and confrontational. He repeatedly dismissed what I was saying, spoke over me, and his manner felt unnecessarily aggressive towards someone simply trying to provide honest feedback. He smelled of alcohol. The conversation ended abruptly with the door being closed in my face. I was hoping for an apology or a reasonable conversation but instead they insisted no problem existed, where there most clearly was.It was significant enough for me to abandon my stay and pay for another hotel.

Great service 10/10 wish we stayed for a bit longer the view and hospitality was amazing

A lot of space & privacy, self check in was simple. Polite and friendly host. A lot of amenities in the room and has a very nice atmosphere. Would stay here again

Fantastic 2 nights. Hosts were great. Very helpful with local info of things to do and how to get there. Very quick to respond to any queries. Great location for the aim of our visit to see the Beluga planes at the local airport and chester town centre.

Everything was perfect.

Everything about it was lovely Location was really good, everything you needed was there and a comfortable bed.

It was dusty and i have copd. But we had a good stay and it didnt spoil our stay
