Very nice, clean and quiet homestay between the airport and Jayapura. Very friendly and helpful hosts, who help with local information and care about their guests. A true family-home - we felt very welcome, thank you!

"Arguably the best Homestay in West Papua!"

The Homestay is located in Waena, between Jayapura and Sentani. It’s perfect for the proximity to the airport and the beautiful Sentani lake, and away from the busy streets of Jayapura. I stayed in this Homestay twice. It’s an island of tranquility. The house is beautifully decorated with papuan art. The rooms are spacious, mine had a ceiling fan (which came in handy, and I much prefer as opposed to AC). Everything is extremely clean and well organised. You can use the kitchen, there is water dispenser, kettle, toaster, and even a sandwich toaster! Bet sheets and towels were provided. And the WC and shower were also spacious, very clean and comfortable. The host of the home was very helpful and welcoming. She made sure I felt comfortable all the time, and engaged in very interesting conversations. Thank you Rut!!
