No on-site car park available. I had to park my car on the street and walk back. We had to wait at the front door with our luggage. The host knew that we were there. My wife decided to press the bell button again. We were given a lecture on his house rules for about 15 minutes, downstairs and also upstairs. The upstairs landing sofa was covered with clothes. We were treated like ignorant children. We were shown how to turn the fan and AC on and how to close the doors. No indoor shoe policy and no meat cooking was not disclosed on the website until after the payment was made. Otherwise, we would have gone somewhere else. Two in-house dogs. My wife and I are allergic to dogs. We love dogs and did not mention the allergy to the host. The lounge room is only for the host and his two dogs. There are no local TV channels. We left for the day and closed our bedroom door. When we came back, we found the bedroom door ajar. The bedroom contained our properties. The host had no right to enter our paid room. We believe that someone went into our room during our absence. The bathroom/toilet floor was dirty, and there were hair and also pubic hairs present. We shared the dirty guest fridge with dog foods. The lounge was smelly. We did not feel welcomed. We did not like the way we were spoken to. We booked for two nights. We left on Saturday morning and never went back. We were tense and felt uncomfortable with the arrogance and treatment of the host. After my wife had a shower, the host came upstairs to check and place the shower mat onto the glass shower screen. My wife forgot to place the mat onto the shower screen. We were not happy, and we did not feel welcome at all. We felt like we were being watched. I have used Booking.com on numerous occasions and was never exposed to such experience. Never again.

The property was clean

This is not a place for women on their own, travelling. I disliked that there is no privacy in the property. That the host freely walks into your room without asking first. Which as a solo female traveler, feels invasive. I disliked that the host would comment on how you choose to store your clothes in my room. There are only 2 coat hangers to hang clothes. The drawers were dusty. The host does not like being refused. The rooms are not being properly cleaned between guests. The room smelt bad. The host tried to humiliate me and told me my room smelt bad trying to insinuate that I was the problem, when there was trash from a previous guest in the laundry basket. The host came across as very controlling, in many areas. I was not allowed to wash my clothes unless there was a full load. I was travelling light and did not have enough for a full load. He said then they will have to be washed with his. I agreed. But I was made to unload the laundry along with his own laundry and hand both our laundry up. He took my laundry down while it was still damp. He hovered over me and explained to me how to unload the clothes. Being patronising and bullying. The top bedsheet had cactus spikes in it, that I had to pull out of my leg. Also I believe my bedroom I was staying in has a bedbug problem. If you are a female solo traveler, this is not a place for you. I feel he only behaved inappropriately towards me because I was alone and no one to come to my defence. I was uncomfortable on a couple of occasions in the manner he looked at me. I was so uncomfortable I felt I had no choice but to be awake and leave before the host woke up and come back when the host was asleep. Just to avoid any awkward and uncomfortable interactions. There are two very adorable dogs, but as night they often bark which is not great if you are a light sleeper. I live in a noisy city so I can zone it out a little.

The room was neat and tidy. The owner was very helpful and quite knowledgeable. Was in a quiet area. Bed was very comfortable. Room had a fan and an air conditioner.

Dogs barked quite a bit when we got back from dinner and we were worried they may not stop. Eventually they settled down. Was a bit far from anywhere if you didn't have transport.

We were put off with the owners refusal to refund after trying to cancel after 2 hours of booking, a full 48 hours before check in, then came the email with conditions. No cooking or reheating of red meat, no shoes inside and the clincher was it has a shared bathroom.

Comfortable spacious room, tidy toilet and bathroom.
