Silent Bungalow

A quiet, simple and natural guest-house with charming hosts. If you are looking for nature and also do a safari with the best driver and experience to see elephants, birds and wildlife in the natural park of Udala, you are in the right place! Unforgettable memories!

The hosts were lovely and sorted everything out for us including safari (with a delicious breakfast) and a taxi the next day. The food we had for dinner was fantastic. Some of the best rice and curry we’ve had in Sri Lanka!

Make sure you bring mosquito spray. You’re in the jungle so ants are an inevitability!

Lovely friendly family run guest house in a quiet location with big, clean, high roofed rooms. Excellent large breakfasts and recommend staying in for the dinner too for some great local food. Also highly recommend the safari run by Sudeth and family. Excellent un-rushed tour of the park, stopping to see all the animals, birds and beautiful views with knowledgeable and informative guide. Thank you very much for the great stay and drop off at the bus for our onward trip.

I couldn't recommend Silent Bungalow enough!! The rooms were perfect with a fan. The curries were some of the best we've had. The breakfast was lovely and plentiful. They organised our tour guide for Udawalawe as well as the food and drinks. Our driver Rishal was amazing. He spotted everything and stopped with the engine off for as long as 20 mins when we came across some elephants. This meant that the elephants came closer and we got to appreciate the peace and quiet. Definitely a highlight of our Sri Lanka trip!!

Really nice homestay sudath was very helpful and attentive. We had dinner and breakfast with them and that was probably the best curry we’ve had in Sri Lanka so far :) highly recommended staying with them. Sudath can also arrange safaris :)

Sudath and his family were hospitable, friendly and very helpful. You feel like you are in the middle of the forest, falling asleep with the sounds of birds and frogs. The food was delicious and plentiful and communication was professional and efficient all along. Highly recommended.

Having to leave after just one night!

Sudath and his family were fantastic hosts, everything was delicious. The safari trip was absolutely amazing and Sudath has such amazing knowledge about the park and really cares for the environment. He will try his best to find and stop at all types of animals including even the smallest birds and lizards! 100% would recommend to anyone.
