Tetebatu Sunrise Homestay

Very pleasant stay with angi, suel and their family, this is actually a real homestay concept, where if you want you can share with the family, eat together, bonfire and learn a lot from the local culture.

I loved the family, very welcoming and cute. The location of the Homestay in the middle of the rice fields is amazing and we had such good food. I would definitely recommend you to stay at this homestay if you want to experience life with a local family ! Now they became friends that I would love to visit again !

It is a good homestay for that price. The garden is beautiful, because you are in the middle of rice fields. The breakfast was very good.

They asked us if we want to cook with them our dinner, asked us for a tour to the popular rice fields in tetebatu. That all sounded for us really friendly and we joined for the cooking. We asked them how much money they want for the food, but they just smiled and said "they got the cooking stuff from there sister, it is ok". As we checked out, she said in the last second "you have to pay for the food" and she wanted a lot of money for just two dinner. We was in hurry and so we paid it. Without of this situation, it would be so a nice stay in this homestay, but now we don't know how we should think about them. We are feeling a bit disappointed and sad. At the cooking evening we had really much fun and we liked them a lot, but now it feels like they are just kind to us because they saw the money. So I'm not sure if I should recommend this place. You should not act in this way. If you stay there you should be really careful, they are offering a lot of stuff, but they always try to get a lot of money from you. The homestay has no WiFi! And no hot water, what is a bit bad, because it is often rainy and cold.

Authentic homestay, Suaeb and his family made us feel very welcome and were very caring. In the evening they cooked us a very good dinner then we sat down by the fire and shared a very good time discussing our respective cultures. The house was clean and functional, surrounded by nature with a view of the rice fields and the mountains. You can pay extra and make a very nice walk to see the black monkeys in the forest, walk through the rice fields and swim in the Tetebatu waterfall. Nb: do not rely on the location given on Google maps but rather contact Suaeb when you arrive in Tetebatu.

One of the best home-stays I’ve had so far in Lombok. Such genuine and friendly people. Suaeb and his family were very welcoming, gave me snacks and home cooked dinner! Room was neat and clean. Had a great sleep after spending time with the family around a Bonfire to beat the cold at night. In the morning, managed to catch the sunrise and a great view of Mount Rinjani from the paddy fields. 100% will come back again and stay for more days. 1 night was way too short for me.

Our stay was just awesome! The family welcomed us with typical snacks and coffee and we had the opportunity to share each other's culture. Suaeb and his family did everything to make us feel at home! The homestay is very nice, located in the middle of nature with Rinjani view and rice terraces! Suab brought us around showing the beautiful waterfall and the rice terrace next to the place! The place is also in a perfect location, just next to the monkey forest, Rinjani, the rice terraces and many other waterfalls. They also cooked for us many delicious meal! It was very nice to hang out with the family. Suab is very nice and helpful, and did everything for make our stay perfect! Highly recommend, we will be back for sure!
