Tetebatu Sunrise Homestay

Staying at SuEf’s Homestay was an unforgettable experience! His family was incredibly welcoming, the food was delicious, and the location is nestled right in the heart of nature. If you’re looking for a truly authentic local experience and the chance to connect with warm, genuine people, this is the perfect place to stay. Highly recommended!

I stayed in the recently renovated room, it was really nice and clean. There is a fan in the room which I think is enough to cool it off. The food cooked from Anggi was great, and the family is really nice to have a chat with :) We did two activities with them; the waterfall hike and visit to the artisans markets.

The room can get very hot when the door to the toilet and room are both left closed for a long time, but nothing a couple of minutes with the door open can’t fix

A wonderful family. They took us as their own, they were always interested in what we needed. They offered opportunities to explore the surroundings and the lives of local people. Thank you Suef and Angi, give our regards to all your family!!!!

We loved the hosts, they made us feel right at home. They helped us experience a slice of Indonesian life, which can often be hard to find. The location, tours and food were great. Although the accommodation was a little basic, it was all that we needed to disconnect from the world, especially for the cost. Money well spent.

Lovey family run business. It is very off the beaten path type stay. Honestly, for the price (ended up being $19 AUS inc breakfast), it’s great value. Saueb knowledge of the local area and land was immense. Was fun hanging out with the family. You can pay for a home cooked meal and they were able to adjust to make more vegan. Good for a quick stay!

Booked queen room, but was given the standard room, only realised a few hours in. No soap for shower given, not no issues, just ask and we get. Room was small and stuffy - but considering cost and it cools down after 12am, all good :)

Anggy and Suaeb are amyzing hosts. The have 3 tiny houses. 2 smaller ones and the newest is a bit bigger. Further a small kitchen. Always asking how its going and if we need something. They wanna help you with everything. When we arrived i was allready a bit sick. Unfortunatly it was getting worse. The whole family was trying the help me untill they fixet a taxi for me to bring me to the hospital. Suaep and his brother were even going with us and waiting there. I had to stay in the hospital and everyday they asked me how its going on with me. The best hosts you can wish. Your on there property. Chickens and a cow are ther as well. Next to the ricefeelds.

If you don't like the sound of the many mosks dont go there and dont go to tetebatu at all. Its a part of there life.

I loved how amazing the experience was, and Suef and Angi really looked after us and made sure we enjoyed our stay in their Homestay, it was such a perfect village experience with a walk through the rice fields to the waterfall and through the monkey Forrest and they taught us how to make coconut oil.
