Huy Trung Homestay

Our stay at Trung's was magnificent. We stayed in the Happy Garden room, which was very cozy, entirely made of wood, and had a view of the garden. I highly recommend having all your meals, from breakfast to dinner, at Trung's place, as they are truly excellent. Staying at Trung's was essential to fully enjoy the Bac Ha experience, as he personally takes you on tours to the most authentic places in the area. He knows the best trekking paths and allows you to connect with the local communities. The lunch at the Forest Homestay was unforgettable. Bac Ha is a gem, similar to SaPa but much less touristy. It was definitely the most beautiful experience of our stay in Vietnam.

The friendliness of the family hosts.

I was looking for a quiet weekend in the mountains after a week in busy Hanoi (and before that, Bangkok), while doing some tourism in the area. I was not disappointed at all and really appreciated some features of my stay: homemade food, beautiful landscapes around, the Sunday market close by and the Can Cau market on Saturday, AND the motorbike ride with a driver who spoke French for a day, arranged by my kind host (who also recommended me the direct bus to return to Hanoi instead of going back to Lao Cai station). Overall, I had a great time and felt like it was a good mix of slow and authentic traveling <3 I will cherish this part of my trip for a while, thanks to Huy Trung Homestay!! Merci.

We stayed in Lovely Room which was spacious and comfortable. Dinner and breakfast all great. Trung was an exceptional host. We had half a day free before heading back to Lao Cai for night train and Trung helped to arrange a 3 hour tour for us to see rice planting! Our driver Long was great as well. He even encouraged me to jump in the rice field to experience it. He also took us to the waterfall and helped us along the climb. Trung kept checking with us every hour to make sure we were good. Exceptional!

Best accomodation we have stayed in in Vietnam after being here 5 weeks. We stayed in the happy garden room- clean, comfortable, lovely room in the beautiful garden. Beautiful 360 view from balcony at the top of accomodation and access to pool also with a view. Nice touches such as toiletries, heater in shower, tea on arrival. Hosts really amazing. We had a beautiful meal cooked by Trang and his family the first night, we all sat together with another guest family, was very special. Big breakfast. Trang very helpful and knows lots about the surrounding villages and people, interesting conversations had. Trang easily arranged moped hire. Location is in a quiet neighbourhood, short walk into town and to the Sunday market which is definitely worth a visit. Would recommend and stay again.

Nice quiet location, good home-cooking, house is nicely appointed, host is very pleasant and speaks good english. Our ground floor room was spacious and cool. Close to the king’s palace (currently being renovated).
