Great, spacious, period apartment close to the old town with a view of the presidential palace and gardens. Great spot for exploring Bratislava. Within walking distance to the train station for a day trip to Vienna!

While the apartment is beautifully designed and located in a lovely historic building near the Presidential Palace, my overall experience was disappointing.

Communication with the host felt impersonal and automated. Upon arrival, I didn’t receive clear instructions on how to access the apartment and had to call Booking.com customer service for help. The key was stored on a different street, attached to a billboard — a detail that was not communicated in advance and made check-in unnecessarily stressful. The apartment also wasn’t properly cleaned. Floor inside the room was very dirty on the day of my arrival :( In addition, several cabinets in both the kitchen and bathroom were marked as “not for guest use,” which felt restrictive and created the impression that the space wasn’t fully prepared or intended for visitors. Throughout the apartment, there were multiple “do and don’t” signs, which contributed to an unwelcoming atmosphere. Lastly, the required security deposit had to be transferred to a personal bank account, which felt unprofessional and raised concerns about standard practice.
