Habitaciones Pabla

If you are planning to visit Santiago as a tourist, this is not the place to stay. It is far away from the city centre and main tourist attractions, in a neighbourhood of working class people. The house is VERY simple (there are 6 rooms and a shared bathroom for all guests). Mrs. Pabla is very and gentle and keeps her house spotlessly clean. However, there is a kind of open garage in the backyard where people walk in and out all the time. so there is chat and noise all the time. The small kitchen is very outdated but Pabla made it sure I had a locker wirh a mug, instant coffee, tea, a plate, etc. My room was clean and warm and had a flat TV screen. This is exactly what I needed to rest and sleep between two long- haul flights. You get what you pay for, and it was OK but it is not the type of accommodation I would recommend unless you want a warm, clean bed just to rest at a very convenient price. BTW, there is excellent WIFI, and an airport van left me at the door and picked me up when I left.

The neighbourhood, the house itself, the kitchen.....you must bear imind this is not a hotel or B&B, just a very simple guest house for decent people, backpackers, labourers, etc.
