"Very relaxing experience, should have stayed longer."

A short boat trip from the village, the Ecolodge is on a beautiful beach with interesting wildlife. Perfect for romantic gateways if you like simple facilities. Everything is very informal and easy.

"A mesmerising experience"

10.0

We liked everything about the place, the food, the staff, the owner, the room, the location, the sitting area, the view from our balcony, the trees, the shellfish, the fish, the shipwreck and the fact that we shared the place with fewer than five other guests even when all the rooms were occupied, making it very serene and peaceful. We enjoyed every meal that we had there and in our four days there, we were never served the same dish twice. We had various types of local fish. They were all great and very fresh. Excellent value for money at 25K pp. Even Mee Goreng in the city costs more than this. We found the room to be very spacious, clean with lots of places to hang our clothes and place our belongings. We also had some very interesting discussions with Rakhyne and Dana. It was great to be able to learn more about the local culture, architecture and current situation. Thank you. We hope we'll have the chance to return.

"Paradise on earth"

10.0

I stayed with my 6 year old son in this place. It`s really paradise on earth. Rakay the owner is very kind and helpful and took us from the airport. The bananapankakes for breakfast had been delicious. Meals do you have to order in advance. There is a beautiful beach at low tide and you can also manage to swim. By snorkeling and kayaking or doing SUP we saw a lot of turtles around us. A really beautiful place with wooden huts at the edge of a rainforest. If you wake up in the morning surrounded by the jungle noise with the view at the ocean you are just chilled. Sunset is amazing to watch. And my son did some painting on canvas as Rakay gave him some colours and paint brushes. Really nice place to calm down and recharge your batteries. We definitively like to come back. Thank you very much for all.

Nothing to tell.

"Hidden paradise"

10.0

Amazing peace of paradise, a hidden gem, full in nature. The jungle in the back and the sea at the front. It is going back to basic, but that was all I needed. Destressing, reading books in the hammock, snorkeling, exploring the environment by SUP. The sounds of the jungle and sea, very relaxing. Very nice decorated. Great food that was brought by boat every day freshly. Very friendly host that picked me up from the airport and brought me to Bukkitingi in his wild Rover and great music blowing out of the speakers. Of course an extra fee, but more than worth it. The whole stay felt like an adventure!

Nothing. One of the most beautiful spots I ever stayed.

"Great place for snorkeling and chilling out."

10.0

The Ecolodge lies in a small bay near a small coral reef. You could snorkel all day (they have masks, snorkels and one pair of fins) and not get tired of it, as the whole peninsula is jammed with corals. Their own place, though, is special. Because of the calm water, turtles come there to get their back cleaned. We saw plenty of them - around 20 encounters with these elegant beauties within 1 day! Although the room is as you would expect it to be in an Ecolodge - quiet close to the jungle - the bed is comfy and has a mosquito net. There is a cold shower (with nice pressure!) and a toilet, too. The host is really friendly and helpful and offers additional lunch and dinner as well as trips to the surrounding islands. He also can arrange pick-up from Padang.

As there is low cellphone coverage (which is a very good thing in an Ecolodge), the host might not be able to answer directly - better text him one day in advance :)
