Mr Bao Homestay & Bungalows

Beautiful family, delicious breakfast, great location

Very cute Bungalows, very calm and peaceful area. A little off the hot spots of Koh Yao Noi, though. Mister Bao is super friendly and helpful and does everything to make your stay comfortable. The authentic Thai breakfast is a highlight. It tastes great and you hardly get this food anywhere else we have been.

The traditional breakfast was very good! Mr Bao arranged a scooter for us and a trip to islands with a delicious box lunch. Everything went very smoothly, we stayed longer than expected !!

The accommodation is simple, but clean and mostly comfortable. AC in the hut is a big plus. The location isn't far away from the town centre and there are few decent options to eat in walking distance. Plus the island is small and it's not a problem to get around on a scooter or a bike, even to the beaches on the eastern coast. We even got to see hornbills just behind our hut. Mr. Bao seems friendly and helpful, but communication in English is rather difficult.

For the price we paid (~1k thb per night), having only cold water in the shower is a bit rough. The bathroom also had a mosquito problem, we killed about 40 of them before we figured out they were coming from the drain. While covering the drain fixed the issue, the owner should do something about that. There also were no table or chairs in the hut. It'd be nice to have a place to eat or work. The breakfasts were alright, but again a bit disappointing for the price.

Everything was so easy and nice.

The bungalows are very basic but cozy and clean. There is a fridge and AC, also the internet is high speed, if you're working while travelling. The breakfast is good and freshly cooked. You can rent a scooter from Mr Bao at a fair price.

You should be advised that there is no hot water.
