Quarto Suite na Gavea

This was very basic accommodation with a simple shower and kitchen. Suitable for students or backpackers looking for cheap self-catering accommodation as a base to explore the city from.

I stayed for 9 days at this property, but this is part 2 review. It's in a brilliant area. Sonia, the host, is very welcoming, kind, and a good host. Great area, good facilities, and near some bars, shopping centres, botanical gardens, and a park, and not far from Leblon beach. Or Leblon Metro station, which takes you towards downtown and copacabana, etc.

Everything was good.

Sonia is a very good host. We have a good-sized kitchen with an airfryer, blender, microwave, and fridge. Which is very handy if you want to cook things like chips, burgers, and sausages. But there is also a 2x hobs stove. Where you can cook anything fried or boiled. As for the bedroom, theres three nice beds, and a TV which is nice. The bathroom is a basic shower which is good. The area is brilliant and very safe to go out in the evening. There was a beautiful lake called Lagoa about a 15-20 minute walk away, which has a beautiful view of Rio De Janeiro and the cliffs. There is a nice shopping centre in Leblon which isn't too far away, and there's the Beaches not too far away. The Jardim Botanico and Lago Parque are two places I highly recommend. There are monkeys and nice exotic birds in both.

Because of the tropical heat and the forest that surround the area, you did have some bugs, not many, but you did have some. However, you just use bug spray and it gets rid.

The location was perfect for me. Good wi-fi and television.

Front door was hard to open, the key had to be wiggled a lot. Inside of microwave oven dirty. Upon arriving flusher did not work. Needed repair at various points.

You get the entire place by yourself in a colonial house - bedroom, private bathroom and kitchen, a rare gem in Rio de Janeiro. Location is at the local Gavea neighbourhood, very near to the botanical gardens and walkable to Leblon beach. Sonia and her sister were the most welcoming pair, always greeting us and making sure we are comfortable, they even got us mosquito repellent during our stay. Highly recommended for a private, truly local Brazilian experience.

I fully enjoyed staying at this property, The location was brilliant,.and very safe area, so you can walk out at night with no trouble. Not too far from beach, nearby Tijuca Forest, Botanical gardens and has plenty of decent bars and shops and shopping centres nearby. Also theres decent transport links from Gavea to Central Rio. The lady was very nice and helpful. She left some refreshments in the fridge for me, and I had use of a kitchen with a stove, microwave and fridge. And the room had 3 beds which was nice and a TV, and have use of a shower which is nice. Fully enjoyed my stay and I look forward to staying here again when I'm next in Rio.

Nothing to complain about.

Great working wifi. Had warm water for shower. Had filtered drinking water. The owner gave us some food and drinks to consume. The owner was only a text away for any questions or requests.

Walls, counters, desk, and floors aren't clean. The bathroom is always wet, and the hand towel doesn't dry. Shower water leaks a bit outside of shower stall, which makes the floor wet in the bathroom. One of the pillowcase smelled like smoke and sweat.

Very good location nice neighborhood with plenty of cool bars and restaurants 3min walk away The lady was very nice and helpful The fridge was provided with snacks and refreshments.and she let me have a late checkout free of charge. Location was near family and nightlife. Basic accomodation but had kitchen if you wanted to cook. TV and quiet

You could not have slept on the bed settee , it was rock hard. You dont get much for your money in Rio de Janeiro. Okay if you only sleeping here.
