Lake Tekapo Double Room shared facilities

The property was in a great location, no more than a few minute drive/walk from town. The room itself was pretty good, basic, with a bed and a few other basic amenities. We didn’t mind sharing the facilities, and of which had 1 night where we were the only people in shared accommodation.

The photos are a little misleading. We were expecting there to be maybe a sink for the kitchenette setup, however we were wrong. The only sink being the toilet, and only source of water is from the bottles in the fridge that the host had to fill up (did pretty dutifully though). In terms of privacy, the shared facilities are attached to the host’s house, and they came and went from it when cleaning a few times during our stay. If you are wanting something more private, I would definitely recommend paying that little bit extra and getting a hotel/motel room. Or you could definitely just pay for the other shared room, and have the facility all to yourself.

Very beautiful and stylish layout, especially the dining area. The host family must be real artists! Really like their taste of the beddings. And the room is so warm that we were sweating at night!

Strongly suggest that the room should be equipped with tissue and rubbish bin. Ps it’s quite inconvenient for cooking as a family as there are no stove and no kitchen sink🥲

Very clean, warm and comfortable bedroom.

We didn't realise there would be no kitchen sink and the toilet was in the shared bathroom. Would have felt more comfortable if allowed to lock the external entrance door. I wouldn't stay here alone (I had my husband with me). Would recommend to couples or family booking the entire accomodation together.
