Yacht Club Villas on Hamilton Island by HIHA

Great location and walking distance to most things. Having the two golf karts for slightly longer trips to the shops etc and having the child seat added made things very comfortable.

One of the karts was a little temperamental when switching from reverse to forward.

Really liked the design and layout. Lots of space but also lots of stairs. Decent views but they are obstructed unless you’re in the front row, which wasn’t available at the time we travelled.

Dated and many things don’t work in the villa. Basic maintenance issues were annoying - fan remotes without batteries, outdoor furniture cracked and wobbly, we had to request a mid stay clean for a 2 week booking, etc. Not what you’d expect from a “luxury” property. But the worst was the dishwasher not working. We have to cook meals for our kids due to allergies and not having a dishwasher for the majority of our stay was challenging. The response was “we are on an island and things take longer”. Which we understand, except the fact it’s not up to us to find these maintenance issues and wear the impact when we’ve paid premium prices for the experience.

Amazing villa, beautiful location, fully self contained had everything we needed.
