Feedback for Applecross Riverside Apartment Stay I recently stayed at the Applecross Riverside Apartment and would like to share my honest feedback regarding the experience. First, the response time was extremely slow. I had to send multiple messages just to receive basic answers to my requests, such as early check-in, late check-out, and rubbish bags. I waited over 48 hours for some replies, which was very disappointing. One of the reasons I chose an apartment over a hotel is because Perth is known for its relaxed atmosphere, but the service I received did not reflect that at all. After making the booking, the apartment sent me a message asking for an additional AUD200 security deposit to ensure the property is ready for my stay. They informed me that this deposit would be refunded within 5 to 7 days after check-out, provided there was no damage or mess. Honestly, I’ve stayed in many apartments before and this was the first time I was asked for a security deposit like this — it felt more like a hotel policy than a guest-friendly apartment stay. Regarding check-in and check-out, most apartments I’ve stayed at allow check-out at 12pm without extra charge. Here, check-out is strictly 10am, and even requesting a 12pm check-out incurs an additional AUD150, which I find unreasonable and not aligned with common hospitality standards. I also encountered a serious privacy issue. I requested rubbish bags, and the next morning, a Chinese man opened the apartment door without knocking. I was shocked and frightened, as I was sitting in the living room. This is completely unacceptable — entering a guest’s private space without permission or notice shows a lack of basic manners and respect. As someone who travels often and stays in both hotels and apartments around the world, I’ve never felt this level of pressure or encountered so many strict conditions.

Felt as though I was imposing on neighbors as the other apartments were all tenants as far as I could tell.

Applecross is a very nice upmarket area, with lovely coffee shops, and close to the river, beautiful scenery

We were there for 24 nights and the apartment is not equipped for long stays, very little utensils, no grater. They brought us clean linen on the second week, which was very nice. It is a very nice apartment, spacious enough for 3 adults.

Location is ok.

Hungry Jack is nearby 3 mins walk. Grocer also 8 mins walk

Very clean and tidy

The water either too cold or too hot. Hard so adjust a proper temp

the washing machine is not good the hot water doesn’t last in the shower there was a condom in one of the rooms and which meant whoever cleanned the house didn’t clean it probably the dining table was unstable the tv remote is broken from the back the wifi was slow the number 5 bin outside was full so we had to use another bin
