Savannah Cabins, Taronga Western Plains Zoo

Native Wildlife come to the front of the cabins.

The only downside for us is that there wasn't a laundry available.

Clean, cool (it was roasting hot outside) and generously sized cabin. Full bottle of cold water in the fridge and stocked ice cube trays which was greatly appreciated. Kangaroos were on the front lawn when we got there.

We probably should have worn closed in shoes as there were a lot of bull ants running all over the ground around the cabin (which is expected in a bush location it’s just something we didn’t consider).

Being able to see the animals from your verandah...gotta love that

The location was great, the layout and the kitchenette was handy too.

No air-conditioning in the bedrooms- this might be a standard thing in NSW, but made sleeping for small children difficult when the temperature was 40 degrees during the day and 35 degrees at 8pm at night. The cabins need some freshening up also and there was dirt mounds and construction happening everywhere at the cabins that we were not aware of. This being said, we would still come back and stay again eventually- maybe in winter though!
