Savannah Cabins, Taronga Western Plains Zoo

Great stay location. Zoo access was brilliant and seeing the animals in the distance from the balcony was great. The accessible bathroom was excellent. Great fridge and bed super soft and fans and air conditioning worked very well.

- whoever designed the curtain entrance should be a dentist for lions that have not been sedated …Totally useless and my partner who had accessibility issues had no chance of pulling it back. - no coat hangers (brilliant wardrobes though). - lack of info on the construction works till after we couldn’t cancel was a bit dodgy but didn’t spoil our stay. - not sure having a soap holder above a grab rail in a accessible shower is great placement.

This exceptional property is impeccably maintained and comprehensively equipped with all necessary amenities.

construction fences too close to our place so wasn't able to enjoy the balcony for sunrise and sunsets.

Cabins a bit old and need some updating, construction meant no views and not nice surrounds I think given current construction prices should be reduced. We arrived 20 mins early and cleaning staff member was quite rude and also said would be after 2pm until they were finished cleaning - we were ok with that but be no need to be rude was not a great first impression.

A comfortable cabin in a wonderful location. The free roaming of wild kangaroos all around and the evening sun sinking into the western bush were truly unforgettable. Although our cabin was on the left side of the road, so we couldn’t see the Savannah’s giraffes and zebras directly, the calm, serene vibe of the place was loved by everyone in our family. The digital lock on the main gate near Obley Road made us feel secure and safe. Even though the location is secluded, surrounded by distant forest and at the back of the zoo, shops and grocery stores are not very far away, which made things convenient.
