City Escape 3 Bedroom East End of Adelaide

Location and security were excellent. Can’t get much better. Kathleen greeting us and assisting us was delightful and helpful. The apartment has a great layout with beautiful views of the Adelaide Hills which one can also enjoy from sitting out on the balcony. The birds were also delightful.

Not clean. Tired and worn out. It didn’t seem to us that any painting or maintenance has been done since it was built. Blinds broken and also don’t pull all the way down meaning the sun/heat and light is not blocked out. Walls marked (more than usual scuffs) and dirty particularly around areas such as light switches. Kitchen cupboards chipped and even fixed up badly in places with tape! It is time to replace the kitchen!!! We didn’t cook at all during our stay but noticed the hob was filthy. No washing up liquid or cloth or spray to wipe kitchen surfaces down, just an old sponge (not an u used one for our stay) and tap water. The only things under the kitchen sink were dishwasher tablets and a pan and brush, that was literally it. Nothing to wash the occasional glass or cup or anything to be able to wipe down the kitchen (hygiene). Hand soap in the apartment was cheap, watery and unpleasant. Couple of white towels had black marks on them. Mirrors smeared in bathrooms/not clean. Light switches dirty and a couple were actually cracked/ broken (surely this is a safety issue). Runners in wardrobes filthy. Windows filthy. No mattress or pillow protector and the sheets were not fitted and I woke up to part of me lying on the bare mattress which was not nice. Thank goodness I took my own pillow. The apartment lacks even the basic touches one has come to expect when paying for accommodation making it extremely disappointing. The wonderful view was pointed out to us as we arrived in the apartment followed by “oh the windows could have been cleaned” referring to them diminishing our view of the Adelaide Hills! This went on to be a theme of this disappointing apartment which could be incredible if it was shown some love and attention and those little touches travellers paying a lot of hard earned money should receive.

nicely laid out and spacious, with a gorgeous view over the city this is ideal for an Adelaide centre break. Owners are really helpful and they took the time to meet us and show us around the immediate neighbourhood. Central Adelaide car parking a bonus although we didn't use it.

Fittings a bit dated and could do with a refresh.
