The Meir Lodge. Apartments in heart of Antwerp

The apartment is quite big and stylishly decorated imho. Having a balcony is nice. The location is excellent.

You have to pick up the key from afar, one kilometer away from the flat. That would be more ok if it was somehow on the way from the railway station, but it is not. So it is 2 km extra walking. If the check-in was convenient, I would rate this place 9 or 10.

The location is great, very centrally located. The apartment is spacious, with a nice bathroom. While it was very central, it wasn't very noisy.

There were a lot of mosquitoes, and I mean a lot, which was unfortunate, but not a huge deal.

The people giving the keys were very friendly and nice.

The location of the flat was good but I was not aware when booking the apartment that the place to collect the keys was 10-15 minute walk away. Travelling with two little kids and luggage it did not make for a smooth nor comfortable arrival. The flat was clean but lacked home feeling and in general everything was a bit worn out and kinda broken.

the location and the apartment are very very nice and comfortable with all you need for a sightseeing trip ; cofee shop in the building is an invaluable plus

keys were a little bit far away to pick up if you have luggage and coming from the train station

Luca very helpful but didn't tell us how to access the terrace or patio. Apartments are large but no guide in property which may have helped. Some cleaning products left to use if needed - toilet cleaner, hand soap, shower gel and washing up liquid. Good wifi connection. Large shower which was good and easy to use. Good location to access the shopping area and amenities.

The entrance to the property is dirty and unkempt with mail spilling out of a letterbox. Key pad covered with tape, numbering is not nicely displayed. Floor on entering is dirty, lift is disgusting and smells bad. The lift was dark and full of mosquitos with the carpet being extremely dirty. Photos are showing newly decorated properties and not as they are now. No mirror, furnishings, cushions, TV/radio. Sofa in lounge area was slashed in a number of places. Walls are scuffed/dirty and not wiped clean, dirt/dust on some skirting boards. Cleanliness overall was just okay. Signs on all the doors re parties and how to report the nosie etc, are a bit off putting. No key to balcony so had to use the table each night to block it off and put the blind down. Fire extinguisher is dated 2018, not sure if this is up to date? The smoke alams have all been removed and there is one on the windowsill in the lounge? Small bedroom has a double bed with only 6/8 inched to get in/out of the bed. Nowhere for suitcase or to hang clothes. No mattress protectors and mattress was stained. Pillows were very very soft. Larger bedroom was better with 1 double and 2 single beds and hanging rail, but mattress and pillows were the same. No hand towels provided, just 2 medium/large bath towels. A mat was put in front of the toilet but it wasn't none slip so took it up to prevent any falls. Keys don't lock the front door, but we kept them in the lock. Doors squeak and are noisy when being opened. Freezer was badly in need of defrosting, couldn't use it as it is. The bedrooms feel more like hostel accomodaion rather than a comfy place to sleep. Doors were being left to slam shut which kept you awake during the evening. We would NOT return to this apartment due to lack of attention to the cleaning and presentaion of the building. Had we seen some of the more recent reviews, we would have cancelled our stay and looked elsewhere.
