The Meir Lodge. Apartments in heart of Antwerp

A very nice modernist apartment building next to the main shopping avenue and close to the central station. As an architect, I fell in love with the building and bare bones apartment itself; I could envision me living there! Those sleek steel window frames! Also the kitchen and bathroom were tastefully renovated to a high standard. Contemporary but fitting in with the original age of the building. I stayed solo, but could fit 6+ judging from the amount of beds.

The furniture is standard a-bit-run-down stuff, but judging from the report parties leaflets hanging around the other guests probably don't treat them well anyway. The whole building seems to be short holiday letting; make of that what you will.

Good location

Not clean at all! Noisy neighbors and no soundproofing in the apartment! Full of hair on the ground and even in the fridge. Not clean cookware at all!!!! Dirty bathroom and sink

Price was really good and was the main reason I booked it. Considering the price you have a huge amount of space and many beds. The Kitchen is really nice, new and has everything you need. It's in the central of the city, but it was not to loud. Balkony, even if it's very small.

Die Funiture is really like from a second hand shop, just as the beds. Since I was alone, I could choose the best bed, otherwise it could may caused problems. On the day of my departure, there was no warm water, because of some technical issues. A TV would be nice. The bureau to pick up the key, is a bit far from the apartments. I guess since, there are different departments with different furniture, it depends on luck how good your room is.

Location and Look & feel

I was not allowed to cancel (with 10 days in advance) even though my partner was ill. Despite all reasonable attempts the hosts were completely inflexible. Communication was terrible and the hosts changed the key pick-up location at the last minute.
