"Nice renovated apartment in a great location in Leblon, but communication with host very challenging"

I have mixed feelings on this place. The apartment itself was very nice and freshly renovated. I liked that there was a door code instead of keys. The shower was nice. The location is great. Good lighting

It had ants. There were no kitchen essentials like cooking oil, salt or pepper. The towels weren't very fresh. There is no window to the outside. The real problem came from the host. When I arrived to drop off my luggage, he left me standing for 30 minutes on the hot street without picking up his phone. Then he and I discussed extending my stay and made a plan- but then he told me THE NIGHT BEFORE that someone else had booked the place. He obviously got more money and it resulted in me having to move at the last moment.
