Surfside Apartments - Playa Carmen

Very comfortable place to stay. Quiet, the bed was comfy, nice bathroom and shower with plenty of space for toiletries. Room was very cool, hardly needed to use the AC. Kitchen was well stocked with cooking utensils and small appliances.

Easy, cute, centrally located, ATV rentals literally connected to the place, super kind host, love the chair outside the door, great bed, great AC, cooking supplies, everything was great.

We checked-in very easily. The place was spacious, clean and really close to the beach.

Since it is close to the main road, it can get noisy in the mornings.

Great apartment in a fantastic location!

The room was very comfortable, it has a sofa, a very large comfy bed, ceiling fan and great AC not directly over the bed, very nice bathroom and a great kitchen with a gas cooktop. The giant window lets in a lot of light and although I didn't see it in the photos there was a small desk to sit and put the laptop, which was an added bonus, and makes it a great place to work from too. Wifi works great and each room has a key locker outside where you can leave the keys when you go out to surf. It's 5 minutes walking to the beach (although not direct as the location on the map could suggest, you need to go through the main road). I was allowed a pretty early check-in as the room was available when I arrived. Close to everything you might need, supermarket, bars, restaurants, rentals, tours, etc. They do rentals for quads and bikes too and the prices seemed quite fair.

The kitchen only had two frying pans (one small one medium), no cooking pots or larger pans, which kinda defeats the point of it having a nice cooktop. I asked the hostess if it was possible to get some, got a yes but then didn't get any and didn't insist as I was only staying 5 nights. There was no cleaning during my 5 night stay nor asking if I would like, the hot water ran erratically and there's an unloading dock for the supermarket right behind - it wasn't a problem for me because I wake up very early, but otherwise it does create a bit of noise when they unload in the morning, guess if you use earplugs you'll be fine anyway.

This is a modern and large appartement. It's situated very central and near the Carmen beach.

The drain in the lavabo drained poorly. The entrance door to the flat has a gap of about 1 centimetre on the whole height, which was unfavourable for privacy. In addition, the flat is right next to an unloading point for lorries, which can be heard in parts.
