935 Lodge San José

It was a clean, fully stocked apartment (fridge, microwave, sink, kitchenware, toiletries) which I was pretty impressed by. It's also close to downtown (right by chinatown, and a 15ish minute walk from museums and the Tracopa bus terminal, which is why I picked this place). The host was also super nice! When I went there was a ton of traffic and my taxi had a bit of trouble dropping me off due to some road closures, so I opted to walk everywhere I went while I was there. As a solo traveler I was a little nervous seeing the reviews mentioning it being in a rough-ish area, but I didn't think it was too bad, and if you're mindful of your surroundings then you'll be fine. I walked from there to barrio escalante (~25 minute walk) around 6 and came back past 9 and didn't have any problems. Didn't have any issues being out early (4 am!!) either. The apartment is behind two gates (one padlocked gate and one passcode-locked door) so there's no getting in there unless you're supposed to be there.

I stayed in the ground floor unit facing the street and I could definitely hear all the noise outside (train, cars, people), so it's definitely not for light sleepers. Hooray for noise cancelling headphones! I also struggled a bit using the shower (even though the apartment provided instructions on how to use it) because it's been ages since I've used a pressure-heated shower, so just be aware of that if you suck at following directions like me. :)

A nice apartment , well equipt with everything we needed to cook a meal . It is located on the edge of China Town- close to supermarkets and restaurants. Very clean - comfy bed. WiFi worked well. Close to Tracopa Bus Station .
