This place is very well located, only minutes from a beautiful park next to the lake with some small beaches, playground and a long bike path. The place is nicely renovated and cleaned with a large bedroom and functional kitchen. The place is in fact the whole basement of a house, where the hosts are also living upstairs. The hosts were very welcoming, always available to help and share advice if needed.

This is a wonderful place (as we explain in more details in the "pros" part of the review later). To help future travelers, it is useful to make a few clarifications about the place. The main clarification is that there is no significant separation stopping light and sound between the basement and upper floors. Glass panels were installed at the bottom of the stairs, in the basement, but the stairs are directly connected with upper floor, without a full wall or door. So sound and light can travel freely. The hosts are wery respectful and did not walk down without first notifying us. But the bathroom and kitchen being right in front of the glass panels (stairs), you have have to be more careful, reducing somewhat our feel g of privacy. Another clarification for future traveler is that a cash deposit is required for this place. This seems to be an issue with booking.com not offering this service (handling deposits) but it was our first time in 15+ years of recent travel that we had to do a cash deposit. The cash deposit was given back at the end of the stay, but it requires more planning for check-out (and check-in) and since we received no receipt for the initial deposit, it brought more uncertainty. One smaller clarification is that heating/AC is controlled upstairs, by the hosts. They were helpful and accommodating in changing the temperature. The basement (as any basement) was colder than upper floors, and the fireplace heater from the bedroom was not able to keep a constant temperature (since the AC was still on). One last clarification (another small one) is that the bedroom window does not have any curtain or shades. We wanted to share these clarifications for future travelers, but as previously mentioned, we loved greatly the place and wanted to thank the hosts for their warm and helpful welcome.
