Old Town Charles Apartments

The apartment is perfect! It’s big, comfortable and in the Center. Would stay there anytime again.

According to the check out instructions, the keys should be simply left on the table, except Sundays. But the main gate was locked. Luckily we met another person in the house who opened the door for us. Otherwise we would not be able to leave the building. TV remote out of battery

We liked that apartment was just few steps from the main square and other restaurants. Also the apartment is very big. The instructions we recieved from the owner were very helpful.

When we arrived we noticed that there was a ton of dust under beds (there were also empty bag of chips, paper tissues, old plum, paper roll from the toilet paper). Kitchen was also dirty (the electric stove had dried stains on (probably from many users ago) and when we turned it on it smelled of burned stains, also the oven and the baking tray had greasy stains all over. Kitchen was missing kitchen accessories. Other kitchen equipment was also greasy. Bed in the living room was poorly screwed together (also missing few screws) and had few used underwear in the drawer. Handle of the roof window was broken in one of the bedrooms. Also the bathroom and kitchen sink were partially clogged. When we turned on the air conditioner it smelled of cigarettes. We called the owner and told him about what we found, he send us a cleaning personel. They just swept under the beds with a broom, took away the old underwear and brought in an old frying pan (with greasy bottom) and some extra forks that were missing. They didn't pay any attention to the stains on the stove and greasy oven.

Very centric location. Adaptable host.

Bathroom was not properly cleaned and we had to do it ourselves. We felt uncomfortable.

Good location and friendly / supportive staff. The apartment is spacious.

Doors in WC and the bathroom were not possible to close.

Great location with just one minute to the city heart center by foot. A big size apartment in the second floor and facilitated well.

Only thing lacking is the Wi-Fi as no any instruction clear to us on how to get the free internet 🛜 I sent a message late to the staff and not getting feedback in the morning. So we had to use our own mobile data. Checking out at 10 o’clock is early in my opinion.

Blinders in one bedroom did not work since one clip is missing. So sunlight came in directly in the morning . Other minor issues, 2 doors cannot be closet, the sink in the kitchen is not emtying as it should, need to be cleaned. The air conditioner is leaking and not working very well . The kitchen gear is minimal , Many small issues which did not border us so much besides the broken blinder in the bedroom..and the minimal equipped kitchen. The cleaning was not done very well . I replied on the mail i got from the manager and pointed out the blinder thing but got no respons. So either they did not received it or they did not care. Overall not a very good experience . If the owner just put more attention to the appartment t and fix small things than its good.. looking to earlier reviews and it shows that more people pointed out the same issues. Probably the owner will only reply with a , Thank you for you reply " message and thats ok for me but i sincerely hope that the owner fix these small issues
