Altstadtapartment Mainz

Great location. We've stayed in two other apartments in the same building in the past, and it's easy to get to the Marktplatz on foot, by bus or tram. Good location for going to events at the Stadtpark by bus as well. GREAT view of the city. There were some nice touches, but toiletries are not provided (we brought our own). We appreciated the balcony and the curtains on the balcony, and the large standing fan that helped make us more comfortable on a hot day. There's a wardrobe if you want to fully unpack, and a seating area as well. It is well equipped for a short stay. Having parking on-site was also a big plus. Good water pressure, although the shower is small. Good WiFi.

I did not like that I had to stand outside the building and wait for someone to come out or go in so I could go up to the apartment to get the key from a lockbox. A resident let me in without questioning who I was or why I was there. And while I waited less than 5 minutes in the late afternoon, if it had been late at night or raining, I would have been very uncomfortable. The mattress was so soft that we both woke up the second day in a lot of pain. If either of us moved, it shook the bed and disturbed the other. We both woke up repeatedly. We were exhausted both days, and I literally contacted our massage therapist on the way home to see if she still had availability today. The bath towels were VERY rough, from being cheap, air dried, or both. The electric kettle was ruined by hard water and did not look safe to use. (We live in Germany and use filtered water in our kettle.)

It was a great place to stay. Everything we needed was available. The views from the balcony were spectacular.

It was great to have a fan as it was warm and humid. Air conditioning would have been the only thing to make this place exceptional.

Very quiet apartment complex. Kitchen equipment was adequate, everything was provided. Very convenient for trains, trams , buses & tourist sites.

Deadlock on-front door didnt work.

Clean, tidy, practical and good location. Bed was so comfy.

Great view and great furniture. Comfy bed and good curtains (there's a lot of light obviously, which is really nice during the day and at night you draw the curtains) Kitchen is equipped with everything you need. Good communication and very central, close to the central station.
