Location for Colditz castle - you simply couldn't get closer! The food and drink in the restaurant was excellent value for money. Staff were really helpful.

We were visiting Colditz Castle, and the accomodation was quite literally next door. It is a top floor apartment over a bar/restaurant.

The apartment had all the domestic facilities you could want, and a well appointed kitchen, but there was no welcome pack of tea, coffee, sugar, milk, etc, so it was not possible to make yourself a drink when you arrived. You either had to make a trip to the shops, or go downstairs to the bar. It had been a long day's travel for us and it would have been nice to have been able to make ourselves a coffee when we got to the apartment.

"Escape to Colditz."

You couldn't get a better location. The apartment was fresh and airy and had great views all round. The restaurant down stairs was very good and the people helpful. However, don't let my negative comments below put you off. It really is first class.

Quite a lot of rules. I know some people need telling, but give us a bit of credit. The handover guy seemed like we were putting him out a bit, he might have been having a bad day. Don't let this deter you, it's a really nice place.

"Great place to stay if you are visting Colditz castle"

Right next to the entrance to Colditz Castle... What a fantastic job they have done to tell the story of the castle using personal iPads and sometimes big screens ... I never usually go to history museums, but this really is a must see to learn more even more about the exploits of the WW2 prisoner’s escapes. It is literally a small flat above a restaurant... the food & beer in the restaurant was very nice and sensible money. Nowhere else really to go to eat so we used it on both nights. On street parking was safe…
