Apartamento Atico en Puerta del Sol

Located right in the heart of Madrid.

Definitely not a great sense of hospitality. I have been charged 30€ for arriving 10 minutes after the check-in limit at 10pm. I constantly updated by whatsapp the host about my late coming due to flight delayed but i got no feedback until I called twice once at the apartment building before to get somebody. So yes ”rule is the rule” but clearly no compassion here. Everything in the apt is minimal investment (good luck to sleep in the sofa bed!, ikea tables with holes in it…) for a maximum of profit. I am generally not picky but I was disappointed.

I was greeted in front of the building by the host who showed me around the apartment. I stayed in the loft apartment which was small, but more than enough for one person! The bed was comfortable and everything worked. The kitchen was well equipped, although it is small so I wouldn't plan on making any big meals in there. Luckily, the apartment is in the heart of the restaurant and bar district so you only need to step out of the building to be surrounded by a great choice of food. The apartment is quiet even at night when the streets are very busy because the windows look away from the street. The nearest metro is Sol, which is literally around the corner, a 2 minute walk.

We didn't get the room in the picture. Sleeping in attic was impossible because its extremely hot. My calls and messages about providing a fan were ignored. Had to buy my own fan. Also, couch in the living room was broken. Could hardly fit 1 person and it was uncomfortable. The second part of the couch was not functional.

The location is excellent. The property was clean and comfortable.

amazing little apartment. great location and very equip. will definitely stay here again. my husband is 6ft 3inches but he coped and liked the apartment.

I think the hosts could leave some maps in the reception and recommend car parks. we spent an hour driving round and then moved car to a car park that cost 15 euros for 24 hours which is a 7 mins walk away. the road the car park is down is called Calle de Salud.
