Apartamentos Arrecife Playa

The location was lovely with a view down to playa del reducto. The apartment was spacious and the double glazing blocked out the noise from the street (although not the noise from the roadworks).

Some things that I didn't like could not be helped - like the non stop roadworks from 7am to 4pm. Also the Gran Hotel across the road blocks the sun for approximately 3 hours of the day. The registering system seemed to be overlong and complicated (but perhaps this is the same for all holiday apartments). The carnival started the day before we left and massive speakers were erected just below the apartment. Some of the live music was good but an awful DJ played the music so loud I could actually feel the base inside the apartment with all the windows and doors closed. Thankfully, it stopped at midnight. Things that could be changed were:- the washing machine did not work properly (I went onto youtube to watch a video on how to use it so I know it wasn't my lack of understanding). There could have been information for guests about where the nearest shop was and where to put the rubbish, how to use the washing machine etc. A welcome pack with a small amount of milk, tea and coffee would have been most welcome as we arrived late in the evening and (with no information pack) we did not know where the shop was or what the opening times were (yes, I know I could have googled it, but it was late at night).

Location was great. Property was clean and newly refurbished.

The key was available in the Dropbox outside the property as described. The apartment did not have air con as described, instead it had two fans. No chopping board in the kitchen. Internet was hit and miss. No feedback from the property on any of three questions or issues that we raised. No welcome book or instructions on what to do in the property or where to find stuff.

Lovely, bright and spacious apartment with great views. Comfortable beds. Large balconies.

Lack of equipment/facilities. Only small plastic table and 2 plastic chairs on balcony - sun beds would have made all the difference! Broken washing machine. Broken kitchen bin. Mis-matched crockery and glassware. Only 3 teaspoons! Stained sofa and armchair in sitting room. No basic items of welcome - salt/pepper, coffee pods, toiletries, etc. (Welcome pack consisted of small bottle of washing up liquid, a sponge and a dishcloth). No information pack provided to give basic details of the area and things to see/do, bus timetables, location of bins etc).

The 5th floor apartment we stayed in is located right next to the beach, it had great sea views, especially from inside the apartment thanks to the big windows. The balcony was a decent size but the table outside was too small to fit the variety of dishes while dining alfresco (indoors table was much bigger). The balcony was overlooked by the tall Arrecife Grand Hotel situated in the front of the apartment, it also interrupted frontal view of the sea, but you still get great sea views on each side of that hotel. The apartment is spacious, it looks modern and fresh, the bathroom has a walk-in shower. The kitchenette food preparation area is small. There is an electric cooker, microwave, kettle, toaster and Nescafé gusto coffee machine. It has a basic range of cookware. Some of the glass items were missing. Although when we asked for missing wine glasses, it was delivered the next day. There is also a washing machine, drying rack and ironing facilities. All in all the apartment is a good value for money.

There was a strong smell of drainage from the bathroom when we checked but after flushing the shower drain and airing the place we managed to get it rid of. Although the apartment is spacious, the communal areas of the block are bit narrow and not very wheelchair user friendly. The elevator is too small for a wheelchair and therefore every time you needed to use it you had to fold the chair, which might be problematic for those who cannot dismount. In addition during our stay the wheelchair accessible front door to the apartment block was out of service which meant performing a similar manoeuvre to that when using the lift. Also the town itself is a hit and miss when it comes to accessibility, the majority of shops and restaurants have a raised step, although most restaurants have outdoor tables. Bizarrely a lot of street crossings have collapsed curb just on one side which means if you don't pay attention you will end up blocking traffic while trying to mount the pavement on the other side. There were also road works outside the apartment which meant a big chunk of the sea front promenade was closed off, including wheelchair access to the beach.

Perfect apartment for vacation

The view was clearly the best part of this apartment with amazing windows to watch the tide roll in and out. I would definitely recommend this place but just don't expect too much of anything other than the bare minimum.

The mandatory online check-in was total BS! It was very long and required more info than necessary ie. Photo of yourself holding your passport. No extra bed sheets, no oil for cooking, no soap for the laundry machine, not a lot of hot water for showering(max 2 showers in the morning), could use some more dishes, broken wine glass in the cupboard, small pot should be replaced, no HDMI cable for the FTE TV box, TV antenna wasn't plugged in so I had to work for a while to figure out how to make anything work. We had to contact the owner of property manager to get the wifi password because there was no info about this in the apartment. Essentially this place just needed a little tender love and care(TLC). The owner just needs to be much more involved in everything and not just rely on this to be a simple automatic money making machine. Right from the start with the online check-in until the very end, you could tell that this place is set up for max income and minimum output. Having an owner or property manager to have better communication with, would be nice and someone who actually goes through the apartment after every tenant to inspect the place to ensure it is ready for the next people is necessary.

The apartment is spacious and comfortable. You have great views from the windows and balcony. The location is ideal for the airport and getting around the island.

The apartment is spacious with beautiful windows. Nice sandy beach in close proximity. At first I disliked that free parking was 1 km far from the accommodation but it was actually a nice walk mostly through the beach.

Location was extremely noisy, we travelled with a 2yo and during Saturday nights we could hardly sleep. I was disappointed by the terraces, the big one is facing grand hotel and the smaller one is over a roundabout (where street works took place which was also super noisy, but that was just unfortunate timing).
