Marrubi - Basque Stay

Location location location. New renovated bathrooms

Decor was bad (wallpaper peeling, cracked walls, light switches and plugsockets loose and not working, Kitchen was extremely basic. No bedside tables.

Bathrooms were nicely upgraded

No traditional coffee maker, carpet is old and dirty, front door difficult to open/close

Great location, nice flat.

Collection box is quite far from the property location, makes it complicated in the heavy rain we had upon arrival. Kitchen didn't include a couple of coffee capsules or minimums for a short stay. Host was extremely rude when we asked for clean towels given the ones provided smelled bad.

The location was great, close to the river, the Old Town and the beach.

Construction noise, dirty carpet, rubbish on the terrace, noise from neighbours (we could hear bathroom noises.....) Sewerage odour on the ground floor. We couldn't get the cooktop to work even after we found the instructions.

The location was the best thing about the property, especially with the San Sebastián Film Festival happening just over the river. The facilities were fine, the bed comfortable and the apartment is very spacious. Minor point for English readers, I couldn’t find any English channels on the tv, very minor because we were not there to stay in! There is too much to do in this beautiful city.

Collecting the key was a bit of a trek, especially as I put the wrong address in the gps - San Bartolome appears more than once as a road name - and we expected the Marrubi name to be somewhere on the property, we walked past it twice! An accurate map to find the key and the building would have helped enormously.

Very cute apartment, nice use of space,, good beds, nice bathrooms, and nice balcony space. Great location, a little away from the busy-ness, but close to Parte Viejo eateries. We REALLY liked it!
