Apartamentos Alcalá

Apartamentos Alcalá is right in the city centre. Just few metres from Retiro park and Prado museum. Everything is near, it is not necessary to use the metro. Apartment is very clean in nice building and you can find everything you need for your stay. Patricia is very kind host.

The apartment is little bit cold. We were there in the biginning of November. So you will need warm clothes during night.

Great location, beautiful apartment, quiet at night. Located in the center of everything we wanted to see.

The bed was uncomfortable. Probably should be replaced.

Location is perfect.

Since it’s an old building sound insulation wasn’t the best. I basically listened all the neighbour’s chatting. And one of the towel has stain on it. It was washed but stain didn’t go.

Superb location. Excellent facilities (bars, restaurants, attractions) on the doorstep.

No dislikes.

The location was awesome 55 Alcala Avenue is halfway between La Puerta de Alcala and Cibeles, it is a very old building; adequately renovated . No street views, not exactly what we were expecting according to the pictures, but I think it was a very good choice. Patricia was very kind to us and our stay at the apartment. Was uneventful. We just slept at the apartment and stayed most of the day outside discovering beautiful Madrid.

Our units had 2 small bathrooms not properly ventilated, we were four of us and the water heater storage was enough for one of us showering at a time , that meant showering at different hours; it takes more than an hour for water to reheat; it is not a big deal, but it’s worth mentioning

Our host, Patricia, and her son were fabulous, giving us information and support above and beyond what I would have expected. Meeting up to get the keys went smoothly. We loved having lots of space to spread out, and the location was perfect for visiting the Prado, local restaurants, and the Gran Vía. Beds were comfortable, and the kitchen was well fitted out. Loved looking out at the Puerta de Alcala and the activity below us. Street noise was no problem at all. We found the building and neighborhood charming.

Cushions on the the wooden chairs would have made it more comfortable to work at the table — but the rolling desk chair was fine. We found ourselves walking back and forth among the rooms quite a bit because of the layout. The price is a little high, but I think it’s in line with other properties in the area.
