Lapland Sunrise Cottage with lakefront Sauna

Great location. Private sauna. Cozy village house by the lake

This is such a magical place! The view and location of the property are worth the price. It was such a quiet location. It is the perfect place to take a break and enjoy the quiet, and live simply.

No running water in the property, so gathering water at the pump and transporting it to the house and / or the sauna with the wheelbarrow was an experience. The freezer toilet, although unique, felt... out of place. It was so weird also that the hot tub burner and indoor fireplace had garbage inside. Although we didn't use the fireplace because it was summer.

It is located by the beautiful lake.

It is very dirty. It looks like the house hasn’t been tidied up. There are leftover drinks, equipments, coats in all cabinets and drawers. Behind a curtain in children bedroom is full of things. Very unorganized, dusty and very dirty.

Beautiful lake side cottage in peaceful surroundings. Beds comfortable and lovely sitting area. The view is what the cottage is all about. Sauna a real treat. Only 10 minutes drive from city centre and Santa village. Hosts very responsive and helpful. Perfect spot for spotting Aurora borealis activity. We were very lucky to see Northern lights last night.

Didn’t like that we had to take out trash and strip bedding when leaving property. This should be included in hospitality of the venue. Also kitchen could be refurbished and have more cooking equipment and crockery.

The location was ideal, you had your peace and quiet. It was about 15 minutes from the airport and about 10-15 minutes to the other shopping facilities. The accommodation was very cozy, a Chminee which could be fired up every evening, all in all it was very cozy and you really had your peace!

We were there for a good six days and the price was very high in my opinion when you see the cottage. It is really as written, there is no running water in the cottage, but that is still justifiable because you could fill water canisters by means of a pump at the cottage & then shower in the sauna, all half as wild. Price/performance in the sense not justified, as the cottage is already getting on in years, the sofas could also be cleaned again (dried stains everywhere), carpet also had food leftovers from previous guests inside & the outside door handle of the sauna could have been replaced with a real handle which was difficult to grip, doesn't cost the earth. The sauna also has its charm, but there you also notice that it is very outdated, with the insulation as well as the cracked glass of the stove in the sauna. Hence the point with price/performance

Just window in living room

The worst place stayed in. 😪 We were booked in for 4 nights, but after one night, we don't know how to live in this night, mare. No clean water ( have to go to shop for it). Toilet was just lined with plastic bag. When asked about changing the bag, I didn't get a response.( need to use supermarket toilets). We were told we had to wash in sauna, which took 2 hours to heat up. One night, we came home to find someone else using it we thought it was exclusive to us. After they were finished we couldn't use as there was underwear and swimming costume left it. wasn't cleaned for next user we always made sure was clean when we finished. Not value for money.
