Rovaniemi City Apartments

We spent one week in this apartment in March 2025 with family. Clean and spacy apartment. Very close to the centre of Rovaniemi, supermarkets, and the Arcticum (museum). The host (Rauno) is very attentive and always approachable by WhatsApp. Eager to find solutions whenever there are issues. Parking lot is next to the house.

Overall, the benefit / cost ratio does not fit from our perspective. Though the appartement is spacy (3 bedrooms with an open living/eating room) the furniture, blinds, kitchen equipment, etc. is very basic and makes a quite used/old impression. For that price we would have expected more comfort. Few examples: WIFI collapsed each time the PS4 was used. After a while we realized this pattern. You need to reset the WIFI each time. There are no TV channels in German or English. In these days it would have been just nice to follow the News a bit also on TV. Coffee machine is a very basic "filter" machine. For cost of the appartement for instance a Nespresso or any other capsule machine would have been just nice. Bed linen and pillows are very basic. We were not even sure whether it would be warm enough for us and slept first nights with an additional blanket. Sofa (in the living room) is just old and not comfortable anymore. At the dishwasher worked only one program - not possible to adjust it and the sink in the kitchen was not able to shut. It is incorrect (as included in the description) that transport to / from airport is included. It cost about 35 - 40 EUR and you must pay yourself. You have to ask for use of Sauna (which is in the cellar of another part of the building) a day before so that the host can organize that it gets heated. Theoretically fine - in our case apparently someone switched off the Sauna and it was not heated as requested. Again: Overall, not bad - the location, cleanliness and space is really nice. But for nearly 500 EUR per day, we would have expected more. Certainly, too expensive and not matching a 4-star rating. Bigger renewals for a more modern equipment would be very much needed from our perspective.

Great location, walking distance to the centre of town and everything you need. Clean and comfortable with good amenities for cooking etc

The location is really great, within walking distance to the center. Reaching the host and getting information is really easy.

Since we stayed as a stopover, we didn’t need it, but charging an extra fee for towels seemed interesting. We believe that the payment already covers the use of the apartment’s facilities.
